At Vivacé Performing Arts, our mission is to cultivate a vibrant, inclusive, and inspiring community dedicated to the performing arts on Yokota Air Base. We strive to empower individuals of all ages and backgrounds through exceptional educational programs, creative expression, and dynamic performances.

By fostering a love for theatre, we aim to enhance the cultural fabric of our military community, support personal growth, and build lasting connections. Our commitment is to provide accessible, high-quality arts experiences that enrich the lives of our members and celebrate the diverse talents within our community.

2023-2024 board of directors

Lex Syvella - President

Lex is committed to bridging a love for theatre with the power of community building. Her vision is to create an inclusive, supportive environment that nurtures the next generation of theatre enthusiasts.

Under her leadership, Vivacé aims to inspire and empower artists, bringing a culture of creativity and imagination to Yokota Air Base.

A few of her favorite past roles include - Veta Louise Simmons in Harvey, Gertrude McFuzz in Suessical, and Yente in Fiddler on the Roof.

Andrea Roberts - Vice President

Andrea is a graduate of the University of Southern California with a B.A. in Theatre, and has previously studied under The Actor’s Gang (Culver City, California), Santa Monica College and West Los Angeles College.

Recently, she participated in two productions with The Rogue Theatre in Tucson, Arizona. Previously, she and her family have been stationed in Germany, Korea, and Arizona. Having just PCS'd to Japan with her husband, rambunctious four year old, and twin six month olds, she is very excited to explore a new country and build more theatre opportunities here at Yokota!

Mark Burress - Treasurer

Former Marine and a graduate of Indiana University. Mark also attended Indiana Wesleyan University where he earned a Master of Science in Accounting. He moved to Yokota AFB in April 2023 for a 3-year assignment. He works with DFAS Japan as the Lead Financial Analyst (Budget Officer). He is married & has four children who all attend school here at Yokota AFB.

Elizabeth Pace - Secretary

Elizabeth Pace has been a dedicated teacher at Yokota Middle School since 2018. Originally from Texas, she has been passionate about acting since her junior high school days. She began her college education as a Drama major before transitioning to a focus on education.

Determined to integrate her love for theater into her daily life and teaching, Elizabeth has actively participated in various theater-related activities. In 2022, she performed in Vivace’s Cabaret show and has supported the drama department at Yokota Middle School in various capacities.
